Working with Playtesters
Getting people to playtest our game for finding bugs and giving feedback was something that we were looking to do. I ended up getting some people that I knew to do some playtesting for us. One of the things that I wasn't sure how to handle going into playtesting was dealing with people who got frustrated or didn't communicate in a professional manner. Inevitably, some playtesters I had gotten were upset with the game and very frustrated at points to the point they were angry. I really had to lean on my people skills and keep their frustration levels low. Something I never used to think about with playtesting is dealing with people who get angry or upset and it was definitely something new to deal with and overcome. In the end I just realized that there will be people who are less than ideal to have playtest (just like work with) and that's okay. It's more about getting feedback from all players rather than just the ones I want to work with.
